What is Camp@Home?

Camp@Home is Willowgrove’s virtual summer camp, offering a unique live camp

experience that allows children and youth to have personal, genuine camp connections in a

trusted online environment.

Each day campers join video calls to participate in a variety of different educational,

entertaining, and skill-building sessions hosted by our passionate and creative staff. We

Life at Camp:
Camp@Home is fully hosted online so that you can enjoy all your favourite camp-based
activities - like crafts, music, games, campfire stories, and cabin hangouts - all live from the
comfort of your own home. Although hosted virtually, we do not sacrifice genuine, personal
connection. Our online camp welcomes kids to enjoy our programming under the guidance
of our unique staff members, so you still get the full camp experience in an exciting new
virtual format.

Parent Info:
You can rest assured that we take all necessary measures to ensure that your child has a
safe and enjoyable experience in the online format.
All your child will need is access to a Zoom capable device and a stable internet connection.
We recommend a tablet or laptop.

How It Works

Campers
With a set daily schedule, your camper will log in alongside their peers for 2 hours of
programming a day plus a one hour Family Costume Party on Thursday evenings.

Cabins
Twice a day campers will break off into small, age specific groups that will function as their
online cabins. These groups remain consistent all week long so that campers have the
opportunity to meet new friends, build confidence, and develop meaningful relationships
outside their usual circles.

Counsellors
Whether in activities or in cabin sessions, your camper has an experienced counsellor
present at all times. Through live video streaming, counsellors are present to lead
discussions in cabin check ins, offer mentorship, and cheer on campers during activities.

Activities
Each day your camper will participate in various interactive camp-wide activities, games
and competitions. There will also be skill-based sessions designed to develop new skills in
art, music, coding, theatre, and dance. During registration, each senior and intermediate
camper will pick one of these skills to focus on for each week they sign up. Find out more
about these programs here!

We strive for our programming to be…
 Inclusive: Every child participates and connects, learns and interacts constructively.
 Engaging: Complacent screen time is the enemy! We aim to cultivate a participatory
attention.
 Valuable: We want every child to realize something special in themselves.
