The Chelsea Hotel offers their Family Fun Suite & Family Fun Zone that is second to none in the city and we were lucky enough to be able to check it out this weekend and give you the scoop as well as tips and tricks to make the most out of your stay!
As Canada's largest hotel with 1,590 guest rooms, the Chelsea Hotel, Toronto, is centrally located and is just steps from the city's best shopping districts, world-class theatres, vibrant nightlife and exciting attractions.
A premier family destination, The Chelsea Hotel offers a range or activities and accommodations for kids! In addition to their family suite, the hotel also offers 4 additional room types including the classic Chelsea room, a deluxe room, studios and 1 bedroom suites.
The Chelsea Hotel is also following local guidelines regarding COVID-19 protocols and we felt completely safe during our stay. High touch surfaces were constantly sanitized and social distancing was in effect throughout the public spaces.

The suite itself is equipped with an x-box, toys including an extra large lego set, 3 TVs and did we mention movies! Get the popcorn and snacks ready in your own full kitchen or order in!

In addition to the great in-suite entertainment, The Chelsea also boasts a spectacular Kids Zone Area which includes 2 indoor swimming pools, one of which has Toronto's only downtown, indoor heated water slide. A portion of the slide is visible over the Walton Street entrance! Looking for some kid-free time?! There is also an amazing heated adult only pool on the roof top terrace!
As promised, here are some tips that we learned to make the best out of your stay in The Family Fun Suite
Pick Up Your Games & Movies First:
- games for the x-box and movies need to be signed out at the front desk and the lines can be long (but they move pretty fast) so grab those at check in!
Don't Swear Transportation:
- whether your driving in like we did, taking an uber, taxi or public transit; once you are there, everything is a short walk away! Park it and forget it - you are now within walking distance of anything you'll need including the amazing Toronto Eaton Centre, hundreds of unique and spectacular restaurants and eateries for any budget, great local attractions, bars etc.
Eaton Centre - 5 min walk
Young/Dundas Square - 5 min walk
Nathan Phillips Square - 9 min walk
Art Gallery Of Ontario - 11 min walk
Don't Forget To Show Your Key & Save!:
- the hotel has partnered with exclusive attractions to offer discounts to some of the city’s best venues and events including live theatre, retail venues and more
Don't Overlook The Grandeur:
- one thing that we regret not paying attention to was that this is the LARGEST HOTEL IN CANADA...HELLO!
Being in the middle of such a crowded, busy city it is easy to forget that this hotel with its 26 floors and over 1500 rooms, is a beautiful beast. Take time to admire the architecture and Instagram ready photo locations including the lush green wall in the lobby!
Change At The Pool:
- no need to walk the halls in your swimsuit or towels, there are towels and ample change rooms including family change rooms right at the pools
Higher Floor Bonus
- not really a tip or trick but just a cool tidbit, because you are on one of the higher floors, you won't have to wait for an empty elevator as per COVID social distancing protocols *insert dancing emoji*
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Toronto Chelsea Hotel, it was an amazing staycation even with some COVID protocols still in place. We can't wait to visit again soon!
